you shrink yourself
you fear being melodramatic
and so you adjust your vision
so the world becomes monochromatic
but that’s not what you want, is it?
you are not flesh and bones
created just to be given a gravestone
you are a mind, body, and soul
worth far more than your weight in gold
I can see beyond your eyes
they’re shades of desire for something ethereal
you think in epiphanies
and you speak in symphonies
the kind that get standing ovations
the kind that make me forget every great composer
and every artist their ever was
because your words paint pictures that can’t be matched
you are electric
and yet far beyond it
you are you
and that is more than enough for me
