War raged in every direction. Colin had never seen such savagery. White crystals poured from the sky, delivering icy kisses to ashen faces. Frosty grenades exploded with malicious force. Running for his life Colin fell in the slush, the hand of the enemy above, poised to deliver a death blow. Then, just as despair crept into the hearts of the defenceless, a siren cut through the arctic air and silence overcame the soldiers. Weapons dropped to the ground and peace descended. Reluctantly, the children returned to the classroom, leaving their battle ground behind. Colin would live to fight another day.
