Glitter shards lie at her feet and pepper her hair, her lashes, her cheeks. They spiral down lazily between her outstretched fingers and coat the world with a sticky, suffocating silence. As quickly as the world becomes a wintery wonderland, it’s bathed in green as everything is thrown upside down. It doesn’t take long until the flakes fall again. Nobody notices her tears as the air is filled with a flurry of sparkly flecks. All she wants is for it to stop one day; to shatter the glass dome that imprisons her and feel real, ice-cold snowflakes kissing her skin.
