Q: Hi! I am always looking for new music and never know where to start. Where do you find new music to listen to, and what do you listen to?

A: Well, you have come to the right place; I am almost constantly listening to music. I don’t even know where to start. I guess what I would say is: If there is a band you really like, then start a Pandora about them. On mine, whenever I find a song I really like, I screenshot it and write it down in my music notebook when I get home, which is huge. It’s just pages of songs and artists I don’t want to forget. Pandora is nice because it enables you to hear some different music you may not have heard on the radio. I also love the songs of the week from Starbucks and Itunes because they all have a very different sound from what you commonly hear.

I honestly listen to anything and everything. Most often I can be found listening to Boyce Avenue;  a band I found on the grand old internet that does acoustic covers of popular songs. As far as the country world goes, I really enjoy Cassadee Pope and Kacey Musgraves. Any old music from Avril Lavigne and Taylor Swift is pure gold. If you like rap music, my favorites would have to be Eminem, Fort Minor, and Macklemore.  I am really into music that focuses on the voice and less on the back ground music. “Skinny Love” by Birdy and “All of Me” by John Legend are really good examples of this. I hope this helps you in your music search!
