Q: I really like this guy, but I am too shy to ask him out. What would be a successful hint to him that I like him?

A: Boys are tough, and, as all girls know, they are not always the most receptive to the subtle hints of us trying to show our feelings. So, when you like a guy, it can be hard to know whether or not he likes you back. If you have your friends ask, they basically blurt out, “Annalise likes you. Do you like her?” Then you run the risk of him saying “no” and knowing your feelings, but you also have the chance of knowing straight from the source. You can do the old “So do you like anyone?” question; but, that also can be a dead giveaway, or he could be like, “Yeah, I like this girl” and then refuse to give up the name. So, what really is the best hint? For my answer, I went straight to the source, and this is what my dear friend Robert had to say: “Some things you can do are hug him, grab his arm if you’re like laughing or something (not a death grab, dear, you know what he means), send him a song describing your feelings (keep it happy), and let a good friend tell him you like him.” I agree with him. If you go with the friend route, be POSITIVE that you want him to know and that you aren’t just interested in how he feels about you. If you try the other options, watch his reaction. If he sends you another lovey-dovey song, then maybe there are some subliminal messages being passed by the both of you. Does he go for a longer hug? Give you a look when you touch his arm?
