Blue Gumdrops by Phoebe Lyons

And I’ve got ink stains on my sheets
All of the blue I’ve spilled
Over you
And just as the moon wraps its way
Around the wide and warm
And wet earth
These sun-faded sheets wrap their way
Around my
Wide and warm body
And I am reminded once more
Of every
Drop of water that has fallen
From my own blue-green eyes
I am reminded of every
Starry night you’ve shown me
In sparkles on porcelain teeth
Every full moon you’ve made
How I tend to crash under the tide
And maybe you are the reason for it all
And maybe
In one more inky tear
I will have built the most beautiful ocean
Of blue
And I will sail away
And I will sail away

Phoebe Lyons was the only Girl Scout in her troop that didn’t know how to braid. She likes her squeaky bike and her dented guitar, but likes to write most of all.

Rebecca is 20 years old and lives in a little village in Germany. She started taking photos six years ago when her dad got a camera for his birthday. It was fascinating for her to see what different things he was able to capture — emotions, plants, animals — and she wanted to try it herself. The best part of photography for her is that she can express her feelings and tell stories through it, and she hopes that people feel something when they look at them. See more of her work on Flickr.
