Destructive by Karen Manabat

I looked at my hands
Wondering, asking
Was my grip not strong enough
Or was it too tight

You were like drops of rain
Too many to catch
Too hard to blink in
Falling too fast

And the problem was not
That I was weak
But that you didn’t like
Being contained in my hands
