Goodbye, old friend.
This may seem out of the blue
You might not have a clue
But lately, darling
I have been feeling kind of strange.
These winds, these gardens, these houses are way too familiar.
I need a change of pace
I need to be somewhere no one knows my name
I need to leave to discover
New winds, new gardens and new people.
Fear not, old friend, for you can’t be replaced
Don’t be saddened with my departure
You and I both knew this day would come
You knew I slept with my shoes on, ready to take on the world.
There were things trapping me here but I have broken free and now there is no stopping me.
You may not see me for a while now, but remember that I am in memories.
A part of me will always be here, but the rest of me needs to go.
I need to go.
I’ll come back one day surely,
To see you again, to hear your voice again , to hold you in my arms again.
Until then, I bid you farewell.
Goodbye, old friend.
