Growing Legs by Jacqueline Jules

Some dreams disappear
like a dewdrop in the dawn.
Other dreams change shape
like tadpoles in the spring. Once,
I was the size of a teardrop,
swimming in a group. I did not
consider living on land,
choosing my own direction.
Now, with newly grown limbs,
I climb out of the water,
ready to explore a new terrain.
