If You Weren’t Here by Briana Harley

When I was 14 years old, a friend IMG_1585confessed to me that he was struggling with suicide, and though I knew it was out there, no one I had known personally had gone through something like that. I had no idea what to do or how I could help him, but I did know that I didn’t want him to feel that way. As a musician and songwriter, the biggest part of me I can offer to someone, and the easiest way for me to communicate, is through my music. So I wrote him this song to let him know how I felt. Afterwards he asked me to teach it to him so that he could sing it too. ~ Briana Harley

Briana Harley, currently a music composition major in Southern California, plans to pursue a career in anything and everything under the vast umbrella of music, which includes indie/folk singer, symphony conductor/composer, rock stardom and film scoring. You can't ask her what her favorite genre of music is because she doesn't have one. She adores all music from Beethoven to The Beatles.
