March has come and is almost gone once again. I know, truly remarkable how time continues to move on, and nothing makes you realize how time can literally disappear like Netflix. Ah yes, Netflix, the Mecca of all couch-potatoes and second semester seniors. I don’t know about you, but I am addicted to Netflix. It simultaneously creates and heals all of the problems in my life. As such, I shall share with you my top three must-see new releases for March. As spring break is creeping around the corner, I can’t imagine spending it any other way than binge-watching Netflix. With that in mind, drum-roll please for March’s Netflix must-sees.

1. House of Cards

I know, who isn’t watching House of Cards? It has everything you could ask for: suspense, sex, politics, and, most importantly, strong female leads. In this Netflix original series, Kevin Spacey, star of American Beauty, is Frank Underwood. The series follows Frank Underwood and his attempts to gain power and move through the ranks of the US government. Well-cast, well-written, and well-directed, House of Cards is a show that begs to be binge-watched, especially now that the third season has finally arrived.

2. Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt

Netflix’s new original series is Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, created by Tina Fey and Robert Carlock. Unbearably quirky, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is the newest hysterical sitcom. Ellie Kemper, from The Office, stars as Kimmy Schmidt, a woman who was rescued from an underground doomsday cult. As one of “Indiana’s Mole Women,” Kimmy Schmidt moves to New York in hopes to start a new life.

All on her first day in New York, Kimmy moves in with Broadway hopeful Titus Andromedon (Tituss Burgess) and begins to work for self-absorbed trophy wife Jacqueline Voorhees (Jane Krakowski). Although Krakowski’s character is essentially Jenna Maroney from 30 Rock, the two shows are very different — but nonetheless enjoyable. With only thirty minute episodes, the sitcom just speeds by. Its only downfall is that there is only one season.

3. Aziz Ansari Live At Madison Square Garden

Aziz Ansari Live At Madison Square Garden is Aziz Ansari (such a surprise!) doing stand-up at Madison Square Garden. Better known for his role as Tom Haverford on Parks and Recreation, Aziz Ansari performs a fabulous stand-up routine before a large, engaged crowd. At only an hour long, it will move way too quickly, leaving you wanting to watch more because you will pee yourself laughing. Ansari’s stand-up is very different from his persona on Parks and Recreation. The humor is definitely not the same kind on his show, but that should not deter you from watching it. It’s a raucous ride from beginning to end.

Now, of course, you shouldn’t spend all of March in bed watching TV on your computer, as tempting as it may be. Go outside, breathe fresh air, and feel the sun burn into your vitamin-D-deprived skin. March marks the beginning of springtime and the outside world reaching normal temperatures again. Netflix will be there when you get back, I promise. At least now, it will be easier for you to decide what to watch when you do return.
