NYX:  Studio Liquid Liner in Extreme Blue

The other day, I was working, and I look up from my register to see this girl wearing the most stunning shade of blue eyeliner.  I immediately asked her where she got it and told her how great it looked on her.  So when I had a chance, I went to Target and picked it up, tried it out, and loved the result! The applicator is a tiny slender brush, and the liner glides on and has a slight shimmer to it — which I thought I wouldn’t like, but it grew on me. Whether you want to do a cat eye or just a simple line across your lid, the liquid is easy to control.  Waiting for it to dry is the only downside, but most liquid liner needs some time to dry. If blue isn’t your thing, this liner also comes in a dark purple, a gold glitter, and a silver glitter.

Redkin: Mess Around Disrupting Cream Paste

This hair product is part of my daily routine. Especially since my hair is short now, I need product to help it look the way I want it to look. This cream paste helps my hair to stay put without gunky build up or a greasy texture. I take a small amount — about the size of a dime — and work it through my hair, focusing more at the ends of my hair than the roots.  This doesn’t have to be a structured affair; be as messy as you like. Don’t be too rough, though, or you’ll have frizz and flyways to deal with throughout your day. This product gives a lightweight hold to your hair all day and smells pretty good, too. It leaves your hair shiny and well-tamed, so you don’t have to worry about it for the rest of your day .

Germ's resident Beauty Consultant, Amanda Alcala, has a great love for the fashion and makeup world, though these are not her only passions in life. When she is not working or sleeping, she is slowly but surely working towards becoming a floral decorator, an amateur drummer, and honing her skills as a painter. She tries to never leave the house without a book, but she can never choose just one, so her car is filled with books and spare outfits (you can never be sure when you’ll need a costume change). Her friends are her family, and she is so thrilled to be working alongside them and the rest of the incredible Germ staff! She can be reached at amanda@germmagazine.com.
