Meet Auli’i Cravalho: The Voice of Disney’s Newest Princess

Disney’s newest princess, Moana, hails from the Pacific Islands, and, countless auditions later, her voice actress does too! Auli’i Cravalho, a fourteen-year-old Native Hawaiian, beat out hundreds of other young actresses for the coveted role. This short video introduces Cravalho to the world and takes us on the journey of finding her to portray the fierce Polynesian Princess.

Moana comes out in 2016.

Aside from having a last name that is difficult for telemarketers to correctly pronounce, Jordan Gripenwaldt is a degree-wielding Anthropology major and aspiring novelist who has swapped research paper deadlines for article deadlines.
