Neil Patrick Harris pranked the coaches and host of The Voice…TWICE!

First, he went undercover, pretending to be a new host on The Voice Austria. He then proceeds to interview this season’s coaches of The Voice: Blake Shelton, Adam Levine, Gwen Stefani, and Pharrell Williams — all of whom clearly don’t know what to make of this awkward, blank-stared interviewer. Even host Carson Daly is clearly taken aback, all the while trying to give some helpful advice to this new host.

After making an uncomfortable impression, Neil Patrick Harris can’t resist pulling one more prank. He then proceeds to go on stage for a blind audition. Now, Harris actually has a great singing voice, but he purposefully sings shakily and off-key, allowing us viewers to be entertained by the coaches cringing faces. When their chairs turn around, they’re clearly annoyed when they realize it’s the new host of The Voice Austria.

My favorite part of the video, though, occurs when they realize it’s all been an elaborate prank for his new show, Best Time Ever with Neil Patrick Harris.
