The cool burning of skin
comforts me as I slip
out of his arms. Sliding

away from his eyes, thick
smoke falling like sand
covering my hands. He takes

me, grabbing tight
and pulling
at my seams. He wants

 

 

 

 

Katherine Michalik is a senior at Salisbury University. She is majoring in English with a concentration in creative writing and minoring in art. Along with writing, Katherine enjoys photography. She wants to combine both types of art into one piece sometime in the near future.
