The Friday Five: Fun Facts about Yale

 

1. They won’t stop the press

The Yale Daily News doesn’t lie when they say that they are daily. This newspaper has been printing since January 28, 1978. It is the oldest campus newspaper ever.

 

2. That’s a party

Every year in December, Yale holds a dinner for the entire freshman class. During this dinner, there are musical performances, delicious food choices, and an ice sculpture!

 

3. Famous Yale Graduates

Yale has many famous and successful alumni. One of whom is none other than Bill Clinton, the 42nd president of the United States.

 

4. 5%

About 11,250 students attend Yale. Of these 11,250 students, only about 5% percent of them are from Connecticut! That means that only about 500 of the students that attend Yale are from its home state!
