Even if this short film by Erik Wernquist didn’t have great visuals, it would still be worth a watch because it’s got a Carl Sagan voice-over. And stopping to listen to Carl’s words and voice is never a waste of time — unless you’re in the middle of a high-speed car chase or trying to defuse a bomb or…doing anything else that John McClane might do.

But Wanderers is also worth watching because it’s a nice reminder that humankind will forever (or as long as it exists, anyway) be moving forward. Despite the actions of certain politicians and corporations and ignoramuses, humans continue to learn, explore, and evolve. And I believe that we will soon be spreading our questions and our wonder and our selves even more prolifically across the cosmos.
