What to Wear: Brunch Edition

Brunch is trending. Something about the leisure of a mid-morning feast of waffles and mac ‘n’ cheese is way more appealing than any other meal. Whether you’re just meeting with friends, having an interview, or gathering with family, I will show you 7 outfits ranging from casual to formal that you can wear for any occasion.

This is one of the more casual looks that is perfect for just meeting up with a friend. Because it is so casual, you have a lot of liberty to change it depending on your personal style. Feel free to switch up the patterns, colors, etc. Personally, I like how the leopard shoes offer some fun while sticking to a natural color pallet. Denim jackets are also a great fall/winter staple, of course.

This is one of my favorite looks; it incorporates such essential wardrobe pieces, and it can be easily dressed up or down depending on the brunch occasion. A T-shirt dress is so comfortable and adds the perfect city chic look to your ensemble, so swap this with your average T-shirt and jeans for extra glamour. Heeled boots and a felt hat add the perfect feminine touches. If the weather is chilly, you can always add socks or tights, or you can throw on a knit sweater. To add a pop of color, opt for a bright bag!

This look involves my three favorite fall/winter trends: sweaters, plaid, and boots. The origami skirt is unique and adds a sleek, tough look. The grey sweater is the perfect complement to break up a printed piece like plaid.

Continuing with the theme of plaid, this outfit is a bit warmer and more formal. I love the rich caramel color of the sweater with the plaid scarf. Feel free to change up colors and patterns to match your own personal style preference!

If you’re one who likes to brighten up the darkness of winter with your style, this outfit is for you. Pair a warm camel shearling jacket with complementary camel-colored shoes and a white tee to finish off this fresh ensemble. Add a floral necklace for a pop of color, and violà!

I love this outfit because it is comfortable and practical with a level of sophistication. This look would be great for an occasion where the formality is unclear or if you do not have more formal pieces at hand.

If you are attending a more formal brunch, perhaps work related, then this is a great outfit. The tapered pants and houndstooth print are professional yet totally fashionable. The color of the shirt is up to you; I chose a nice blue — perfect for the colder months.
