Writer’s Block by Grace Dearing

I’d rather be in the streets, battling 10 foot beasts, instead of cloaked in the darkness of my bedroom because the horrendous monster inside my mind refuses to admit defeat. My eyes have glazed over as I become enthralled by the blinking cursor on the screen. Impatiently, my right leg jumps up and down, keeping time with my twiddling fingers. I let out a frustrated groan as I slam my laptop shut and rake my hands through my knotty hair in aggravation. It seems I can never translate the thoughts in my head into words that intrigue people to read.

"Writer's Block" is a featured 100-word story from the June Writing Challenge.
