Your Eyes by Karen Manabat

Your eyes are games
They trick anyone
Make me believe
In false promises

They are wonders
Of a future lived
A chance taken
And happened-dreams

Sometimes they hurt
With drainful love
That imprinted itself
So deep inside

Your gaze is hard
To hold onto
I knew that if I did
I’d be lost to you

You keep so much
Hidden in those eyes
I wonder if it’s
Still me you see
