when

Looking back at your life now, do you ever just stop and think: Remember when? From there, do precious memories begin to percolate, filling you up? If so, then yours is a life of when.

When you think about it, those whens are what keep all of us tethered to each other, to the stars, and to this world as we collect years like stamps. You get older, and so does everything around you. You change. You challenge. You become the best version of yourself.

Then there are those when moments that take you to the places you’ve always wanted to travel to, and there are even the whens that pin you back to places you call home. That is the beauty of the when. Think of that word like a door hinge ready to swing both ways, offering you choices and chances and charming memories to find when things seem scary.

So now that you know this is a life of whens, hold them as they happen. Keep them in jars or in notes left for loved ones to find. Let them be things that make life worth living. There are plenty of other things that will hurt you and haunt you because even whens can turn sharp if you don’t care for them. Just remember when life was simpler and the world didn’t seem so real. Let those memories of when bring you back to a good place.
