Summertime: Sun. Parties. Friends. Music. Long Days. Late Nights. Yummy Food.

Looking for a quick snack to make for that upcoming party? Germ has got you covered!

Want something sweet and cool? Try Watermelon Popsicles.

You will need:

– half a watermelon
– a blender
– popsicle molds (or paper cups & wooden sticks).

First, cut your watermelon into cubes and place them in the blender. Puree until smooth. Once you have a good consistency, fill your molds with the liquid. You can use plastic or stainless steel molds if you have them (mine happen to be rocket ships). Otherwise, paper cups work well, too! After all of your molds are full, place in the freezer.   Share and Enjoy!

Need something patriotic for the Fourth of July? Try a Delicious Version of the American Flag.

You will need:

– 2-3 bananas
– a pint of blueberries
– a large container of strawberries
– a serving platter

First, wash and prep your fruit and work space. Slice your bananas and your strawberries, and use them to create the “stripes” of the flag on the platter. Use the blueberries to create the “stars.” Voila!

Need a side dish to share with friends? Try Sweet Potato Guacamole.

You will need:

– 1 medium sweet potato
– ½ teaspoon ground chili pepper
– 2 tablespoons fresh squeezed lime juice
– 1 tablespoon salsa
– 1 ripe avocado (seeded and peeled)
– ½ teaspoon salt
– cilantro leaves for garnish

First, you will need to preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Bake the sweet potato at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until tender. Let it cool slightly, and then peel it.

Place the baked sweet potato in the blender and add the remaining ingredients. Pulse until a good consistency is reached. Place into a serving dish and garnish with cilantro. Serve warm or at room temperature. Great with veggies or chips!
