The morning after,
………….when you hug your mother

having found her
………….in the kitchen wiping plates,

that’s when she’ll say
………….she knew, but she doesn’t

know you’re sorry,
………….not for pushing

up the window,
………….sweeping flies from the sill

for him to spider
………….in. You’re sorry she was

born like you, for whom
………….there is no curtain

drop, no spread
………….wings, no

Genesis, just
………….an open

window and the west
………….hissing
            …………..hussy.
