The girl that’s always there,
The girl people depend on,
The girl people trust,
The girl everyone tells their problems to.
But do people listen to her problems?
Or are her problems miniscule compared to those
Of her friends?
She is afraid to drone on about her problems
When the problems of those around her
Are so much greater in size.
For children are being starved
And she is just upset
About something someone said.
But even if she does
Express her difficulties,
Will anyone care?
Will anyone understand?
Sometimes she doesn’t need
Someone to understand
She only needs someone
To listen.
What a shame everyone around her is
Deaf
